腦轉移癌佔所有成人癌症的10-15%，是腦癌中最常見的腫瘤⁽²⁾。根據美國腫瘤協會資料顯示，估計2003年將有191,600個新的腦轉移案例；其中40,600屬腦原位癌，150,000屬轉移癌。以年齡來分，年齡在20歲以下的腦癌患者每年有3100人。⁽¹⁾
